Oral Presentation On Illegal Immigrants?

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION: is critical and very important issue for the United States. It is country of highest level of Immigration Legal and Illegal, immigrants. I personally stand against ILLEGAL Immigration.
In March 2005 Immigration and Naturalization Service report estimates that 165,000 illegals go home each year, 50,000 are deported, and 25,000 die. But many more than that come in. in 2007 the illegal alien population is above 13 million persons. Government and academic estimates indicate that as of 2006 there were 11 to 12 million illegal aliens living in the United States. The Center for Immigration Studies estimated the illegal alien population at 10 million as of November 2004. Immigration officials estimate that the illegal alien population grows by as many as 500,000 every year.
ILLEGAL IMIGRANTS NOT ONLY COME ILLEGALY INTO THIS COUNTRY BUT ALSO BREAK LAWS:
They come here illegally in the first place.
They don’t speak English because they come here illegally.
They steal jobs for Americans and also legal Immigrants.
They bring crime, Gangs, drugs etc..
They steal American identities and cause pain a suffering
They commit crimes against citizens. Yes citizens commit crimes too but if an illegal kills, victimizes or injures one citizen then isn’t that one too many?
They take medical care from citizens.
They take school funding away from citizens. (OVER $10,000 per kid per year!)
Far too many work under the table and pay little to no taxes. While they get most of the same protections that citizens get.
They are not medically screened so they bring a lot of diseases into the country.
Our population is already growing faster then ever before in history.
Current United States Population is 300million.
Census Bureau’s Projection of U.S. population says that in 2050 population will grow up to 420million.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS NOT A VICTIMLESS CRIME: illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most sectors of our population–the poor, minorities, and children. Illegal immigration causes an huge drain on public funds. The seminal study of the costs of immigration by the National Academy of Sciences found that the taxes paid by immigrants do not cover the cost of services received by them. We cannot provide high quality education, health care, and retirement security for our own people if we continue to bring in endless numbers of poor, unskilled immigrants. Additionally, job competition by waves of illegal immigrants willing to work at substandard wages and working conditions depresses the wages of American workers, hitting hardest at minority workers and those without high school degrees.
Some of the most violent criminals at large today are illegal aliens. Yet in cities where the crime these aliens commit is highest, the police cannot use the most obvious tool to apprehend them and their immigration status.
Illegal Alien Crime in America
• 12 Americans are killed every day by illegal aliens. It translates to 4,380 Americans killed annually by illegal aliens.*
• 13 Americans are killed each day by drunk illegal aliens drivers, for an annual total death toll of 4,745.*
• 8 American children are victims of sexual abuse by illegal aliens every day, for an annual total of 2,920.*
* Quotes from U.S. Representative Steve King, R-Iowa.
In the population study of a sample of 55,322 illegal aliens, researchers found that they were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien. Nearly all had more than 1 arrest. Thirty-eight percent (about 21,000) had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent (about 18,000) had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent (about 15,000) had 11 or more arrests. Most of the arrests occurred after 1990.
About 45 percent of all offenses were drug or immigration offenses. About 15 percent were property-related offenses such as burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and property damage. About 12 percent were for violent offenses such as murder, robbery, assault, and sex-related crimes.
ALSO
we must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all. We must secure our nation, because it makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when our own front door is left wide open and unlocked. Together we the people must secure the future of America.
BORDER SECURITY
• 1. The Administration Will Continue To Strengthen Security At The Border With Additional Personnel And Infrastructure. They are committed to implementing the following border security measures by December 31, 2008:
• 18,300 Border Patrol agents
• 370 miles of fencing
• 300 miles of vehicle barriers
• 105 camera and radar towers
• You never know who is entering this country…
o By The End Of 2008, The US-VISIT Exit Requirement Will Be Underway At All U.S. Airports And Seaports. The Department of Homeland Security will continue to explore effective and cost-efficient means of establishing biometric exit requirements at land border crossings.
o The Administration Will Establish A New Land-Border Exit System For Guest Workers, Starting On A Pilot Basis. This will help ensure that temporary workers in the country now follow the mandate to leave when their work authorization expires.

    Good work!
    What do we do next?
Many want a fence built but I disagree that it would be expensive and wouldn’t work anyway. Criminals have all the time in the world to figure out how to get over, under or through a barrier.
Another answerer pointed out that the illegals are enticed by businesses to come because they can get work by working cheaply and without benefits or safety considerations. What we need to do is pass a law putting the head of a company in prison for a long time for each illegal they hire. No exceptions, no early release, no excuses that ‘I didn’t know they worked here’. They knew.
Expand the law to include school board presidents, hospital administrators, bank presidents, landlords, credit companies, and anyone else who might benefit by having illegals around. Put a few CEO’s in prison for, say 160 years, with no chance for early release or parole and within a few weeks illegals will not have ANYONE friendly to them or helping them. They will leave on their own. (Sorry Canada). Pay a reward to anyone turning in a company who is helping them. Set up a tool booth on the southern border that charges a fee of $1000 to leave the country if they do not have legal papers. They can take NOTHING with them when they leave if they were here illegally. We don’t need a fence!

Maybe if you are objective and see both sides of the issue it will make your presentation more informative and less biased! Also…citing your info will help in it being credible rather than just opinion! Do some more research…maybe try to interview someone who is/was an illegal immigrant…ya know…get there side! Oh yea…and many of your statements are simply false!!!

  3. Lettie D says:

Ask the best source. Ask the American Indians what happens when you don’t control immigration?

  4. Ruby Girl says:

You made some good points … but it’s biased. You didn’t mention our own American companies who contiue to hire these people, which contributes to this problem. If illegal immigrants knew they couldn’t get work here, they wouldn’t come here.
You also didn’t mention why those people feel the need to come here. It could be for a better quality of life, it could be for more money, or perhaps they want to be here but our government has extremely tough restrictions on them applying for legal immigration.
The sources you provided (whitehouse.gov, americanpatrol, etc) are clearly only giving the American POV.
Overall, its a good report. Most of it is true, they are breaking the law, but again, it’s a biased report. You need to mention their side (the illegal immigrants) as well without being biased.

  5. JetDoc says:

    1) Not all illegals came to this country illegally… Many students and visitors come to the USA on legal visas, but fail to renew the visas or leave the country when their visas expire.
    2) Don’t just throw numbers and statistics out there with no source or evidence. Provid a source reference for every statistic you use… eg., “according to ABC News, there are over XXXXXXX people illegally in your country today”

  6. Your second point is not strong. There are many, both legal, and ilegal immagrants that do not speak English. It is not because they are here illegally, some are here legally, it is because they have yet to learn English or choose not to learn English. There is a large enough Hispanic population in the US now that the market has adapted to cater to Spanosh speaking peoples.

  7. William says:

Any thought of an amnesty is an insult to law abiding people.

  8. mustagme says:

One big thing you can do.
Cite your sources. It brings more credibility to your argument.
Edit: I would try to find some sources from places like the AP, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, Reuters, NY Times, etc. Established news agencies rather then slanted websites. See if you can find something from a Mexican news agency

  9. bobe says:

Yes, I would include in your presentation, the need for all citizens of the United Stats of America, to write to their legislatures in their district of voting, a strong desire to see laws reformed on the books so as to protect any and all illegals from doing harm to US citizens. And the need to make some of these illegals have the right to legally stay here with gov’t documentation or else an efficient method of removing them from this country. And to do what’s necessary to secure our borders. As Americans, the demand to have our politicians make new laws protecting our citizens from illegals invading this country should be a high priorty. During your presentation incourage all students to go home and speak to their respective parents about writing letters to their political representives regarding the illegal problems this country is facing.

  10. Blue says:

You can call the arizona gov. office to support the birthright act that want to apply being born in the US to illegal parents does not make them a citizen.
PS they dont speak english because they dont care to learn. Patriotism and pride are things they are not interested in. Also, the estimates i’ve seen say the numbers of illegals are in the 30 millions.

  11. Chris says:

All illegal immigrants are criminals, coming into a country without permission is a crime– there simply is no escaping this fact.
As soon as they cross the border that proves they are criminals

  12. What can we do?
Eliminate the magnets that draw them here.
None of the Senates so called “comprehensive’, code word for amnesty, plans adressed the magnets that attract them.
Birthright citizenship. The vast majority of Americans are sadly misinformed on this subject. The 14th amendment does not grant automatic citizenship to “foreigners and aliens” yet our corrrupt government does it anyway.http://www.cairco.org/articles/art2005de…
Reverse Plyler V Doe where the Supreme Beings, once again, bent, twisted and perverted the 14th amendment to read American citizens have to pay to educate illegal aliens. http://www.vdare.com/sutherland/the_solu…
Outlaw Sanctuary Cities and look the other way policies. Cities that actually refuse to honor federal law and blatantly provide sage harbor to illegal aliens is ludicrous.
There are many things that can be done but implementing those three would virtually reduce a major problem to a minor inconvenience

you forgot to mention they have sex with a lot of american women, some teachers in high school rape them , abbuse them and start sucking their sausagges since they are 13, you forgot to mention that the irs get a lot of money that is never claimed after all, most of hem work with fake documentation, now is not their fault that surplus of money dont go the hospital but to irak. will be very expensive to deport them in the number you propose, plus americans dont wnant to do the jobs they do, they want double or triple $, if we pay workers the $ Americans want , everything would be more expensive, fruit pickers with no education, trailer trash people getting $18 per hr, construction workers without college education $25 per hr to start, the real state is doing bad, without those workers the real state were dead now. everything would be more expensive, people are not going to stop making lines to pick up the unemployment check after you deport the 13 million illegals, crime will not stop, yes latinos are the first minority in usa but we are not the first majority in jail. close the fence and propose a decent and humane immigration reform, usa needs them more than you
