I never had to do any legal things like moving ,buying homes or cars etc.. I do not know what is needed to do to help him sell his home and help him move into a retirement ,senior citizen home or smaller apt.
He is 81 yrs old and not in the best of health..That is the main reason he needs to get out of his home. It is not only costly and a burden financially with fuel etc.,but also he has a hard time doing steps and keeping it clean etc. It is in a bad section of a city and there is lots of crime and I also worry for his safety.
He is living with another person and they do ok together but not that well..She is almost blind and he can’t walk that well..
They bought the house about 10 yrs ago and still owe a morgage on it.When they told a friend they wanted to move she sent an interested person in to buy and fix up their house…He offered over 10,000 less than what it was worth…They don’t have the money or help to fix it up to sell it without a loss in money, but they still have the mortgage to pay off…I don’t know what to tell them to do…They have to get out of there ASAP for safey reasons more than anything…
PLEASE Help me with any helpful information you can to help me help them get moved out of that place..(They live over 1 hr away from me ,so I am not there as much as I wish I could be to help them out like cleaning or cooking…It is NOT an option to let them move in with my husband and I…They don’t want to move that far away from her family and our home is not a place where they will be able to get around ..way too many steps and area . But the biggest thing is they don’t want to move in with us and we really don’t want anyone to move in with us …
