Who Wants To Answer A Final Baseball Survey?

July 27th, 2009 by admin Leave a reply »

Today I am announcing my unofficial retirement from Yahoo!Answers. I say unofficial because I may return after summer. I have a lot going on right now, between music and camps and have gotten a little fed up with Yahoos poor service. I thank all my loyal contacts for a great few years that I’ve been here, and wish everyone the best of luck.
So here it goes:
1. If you could move any MLB team to another city, which team would it be and where would you move it to? (add why if you feel)-
2. What is the most memorable image in your mind that has occurred in your lifetime?-
3. Which position does your team need to feel the most? (include the team name)-
4. Which realistic deal could your team make for this player ________ (besides CC Sabathia)
5. Give 1 word to describe the 2008 Tampa Bay Rays-
Well that’s it. you might see me around here still just in case I really need an answer to something, but that wont be until at least the end of August. Thank you to everyone once again.

Marlins to Portland, Oregon. West coast could possibly support another team. They can’t draw worse than Florida.
    Sadly, 9/11
Red Sox- future catcher. Near future.

1: I think the Rays shoud be moved to somewhere where they’d get more fans to go too. Im not sure where tho.
2: The most memorable image that has occured in my life time about baseball would probably Johnny Mac making gold glove plays day in and day out
3: Toronto Blue Jays: Don’t really have a good left fielder or a lead off hitter.
4:I doubt we could get anyone but maybe Burnett and someone for Jason Bay.

    1. The Yankees to Baghdad. Maybe they will get blown up.
    2. Well I am only 12 so there have not been that many, but I would say the Red Sox breaking the curse in 2004, best moment in my life.
    3. Red Sox, I would say shortstop. Lugo has been very inconsistent there.
    4. Maybe Julio Lugo and some minor league prospects for mike aviles. He is a rising star in Kansas City.

    1. Although I would like everything to be the same, I say the Marlins to Raleigh or something like that.

    4. Ken Griffey Jr. Carlos QUentin, Brian Anderson, and Nick Swisher. Ken Williams has interest in Griffey, although it would be dumb because he will retire soon.

    1. If you could move any MLB team to another city, which team would it be and where would you move it to? (add why if you feel)- To Portland Oregon
    2. What is the most memorable image in your mind that has occurred in your lifetime?- Bucky Dent’s Homerun in 1978 in the 1 game Playoff Vs the Red Sox
    3. Which position does your team need to feel the most? (include the team name)- yankees need pitching period.
    4. Which realistic deal could your team make for this player ________ (besides CC Sabathia)= Bronson Arroyo for ian Kennedy
    5. Give 1 word to describe the 2008 Tampa Bay Rays- Improved.

  17. Baseball Nerd says:

    1. The Blue Jays. I think that the MLB should be all in America. I think they should move to Utah. Why not they have the Jazz.
    2. The first thing that came in my head was my dad teaching me how to play baseball at my first Indians game.
    3. The Indians need to find a closer. I don’t know what happened. Last year they had one of the best bullpens in the MLB.
    4. The Indians could trade David Delluchi, some minor leaguers, and maybe some cash for Matt Holliday. Wait did you mean for CC Sabathia? He is on my team.
    5. WOW!
    Have fun at camp.

  18. Joe Finkle says:

    1) I’d move the New York teams (Giants and Dodgers) back home. While in reality it would be terrible for the city and for baseball, it’s fun to fantasize about every borough (except staten island, which nobody counts) having their own major league team.
    2) Aaron Boone’s walk off extra inning home run off the first pitch he saw in the game from Wakefield to beat the Red Sox and win the 2003 ALCS.
EDIT: (I changed my moment, I had previously said Jeter’s shuffle pass from the 2001 ALDS)
    3) The Yankees need a good all around 1st baseman. Since Tino, we’ve had ones who can hit or field, but not both. That’s not their most pressing need, but its the position we’re most lacking long-term.
The Yankees pitching needs are short term and we won’t make a move there unless there’s a really good deal. Joba and Wang project to anchor our rotation for a while. Moose and Pettitte have learned how to pitch at their current ages and will likely return for 1-2 more years. We have Ponson for now, and we’ll see what happens with that. I’m also confident about Hugh’s long term prospects. Right after his injury he got glasses. If he can actually see, he’ll probably pitch more like he did last year. Kennedy could go either way, but between him, Horne, and several others, we don’t have a pressing need for a trade.
    4) The most likely trade the yankees will make will be for Sabathia, but I give that less than 50/50 now that we have Ponson. I think the Yanks are in pretty good shape player-wise long term and there aren’t too many moves I know of that can help in the short term that are worth the possible downsides. Giambi will be gone next year. We have a replacement for Posada in the minors, if he’s ready next year, we might move Posada to first, especially if his shoulder doesn’t get completely better with surgery. He’s played a few games there already.
    5) There is no word to describe the 2008 tampa bay rays.

  19. fittowin says:

    1. Red Sox to Indiana… i hate both and i know Indiana wouldnt give good fan support
    2. Justin Verlander throwing a no-hitter i was there so it makes it better for me.
    3. The Tigers need a solid DH and a good left fielder… we have some new guys from AAA that may pan out (Clete Thomas, Matt Joyce, Brent Clevlan)
    4. …
    5. Cant think of one word… but i kinda saw it coming. Hope they do well enough to win their divison

  20. Michael Finnigan says:

    1. If you could move any MLB team to another city, which team would it be and where would you move it to? (add why if you feel)- Mets to Caribbean area. It’s where most of them originate from and they aren’t good enough to play in New York,
    2. What is the most memorable image in your mind that has occurred in your lifetime?- Derek Jeter diving into the stands making a catch 4 years and 1 day ago. (I saw a questoin by you about it yesterday).
    3. Which position does your team need to feel the most? (include the team name)- Yankees- Pitching.
    4. Which realistic deal could your team make for this player ________ (besides CC Sabathia)- No one.
    5. Give 1 word to describe the 2008 Tampa Bay Rays- Overrated.
